The Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the Life of the Believer (Part 1)
The Holy Spirit is perhaps the most misunderstood and unrecognized person of the trinity. He is currently dwelling within the heart of every born again believer working and ministering in outstanding ways, yet very seldom do we recognize him and thank him for this work. The Holy Spirit does many things in our lives that we seldom take time to study in the Bible or try to understand. The Holy Spirit’s indwelling, comforting, and empowering work are only a few of the many ministries that the Holy Spirit is presently and actively doing in the lives of the believers.
It is the Holy Spirit that first and foremost draws an unbeliever to Christ. John 16 tells us that the Holy Spirit will “reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” The Holy Spirit draws us to Christ, and then as we fall to our knees under the conviction that he has brought on us and we call upon Christ to save us, the Holy Spirit indwells us and begins working in us in absolutely magnificent ways that we could never begin to understand before we were saved. Before salvation the Holy Spirit worked in our lives in a convicting manner that is designed to point our hearts toward God, but now as a born again believer the Holy Spirit’s ministries are limitless. He first indwells us and seals us as being saved. He then comforts us and begins to teach us concerning the things of God and the Will of God. He also begins to work in our lives in such a way as to set us free from living in the sins that shackled us before salvation and he begins to form the many Christ-like graces within our lives. It is also the Holy Spirit’s work to call men into service for him. Each of these works or ministries of the Holy Spirit are very important in the life of the believer and each will be reviewed throughout the course of this series beginning on Monday.

Amen and good post.
I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit worked on my while growing up. It was so easy to be able to drown out His voice and go my own way.

How true that is. We often tend to turn away from his blessed voice and seek after our own will and desires. Be sure to check back on Monday when I continue the series on this subject!

My husband did a series of messages on the Holy Spirit not too long ago as well as Bro. Tim doing a series of lessons in SS on the subject of the Holy Spirit. You're so right about Him being the most misunderstood part of the Trinity. I look forward to your next post on this subject.
