I am so blessed to live in a nation that allows such freedoms. Of course, this came price, from the brave folks who decided to part with England and start their own government to the brave men and women who have fought and given their lives to keep this precious liberty available for us all.Teacherbughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12081708938092640285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32060719.post-87817279142447986212008-01-15T10:49:00.000-05:002008-01-15T10:49:00.000-05:00You are right, Bro. He wanted to understand how this fledgling nation (at the time we were only about 50-75 years old) was growing so rapidly into a powerhouse.

In the article that you quoted, he mentions that he went into the factories (we were developing into a massive industrial nation) and he said that our greatness was not found there. He said that he went into the school houses and he said that it was not found there. He said that it was not until he went into the churches of America, and heard her pulpits 'aflame with righteousness' did he understand the secret and genius of our power.

You are right, Brother. We are only a great nation as a result of righteousness and God's grace!Nicholas Z. Yet we all know that in order to live in any society, there must be rules and regulations to allow us to interact properly with those around us. Every law, then becomes a rule allowing us one less freedom. In a communist country, there are laws governing every aspect of life. In this environment there is no freedom.

In America, however, we accept the laws when we step out of our house because we are able to enjoy the freedom when we step back into our house.

America, more than any other nation, has a unique balance of liberty and law that inspires patriotism and loyalty unlike anywhere else in the world.

We are a free nation and even though we would like to complain about some of the things that the government says or does, we all know the truth. Our nation has a better blend of law and liberty than anywhere else in the world.

It is, I believe, this free society that drives men to live and fight for their nation. It is this ideal of liberty made safe through proper law that drives our national pride.

This I believe, by the grace of God, is what makes America so great!Nicholas Z. If she ever ceases from being good, she will cease from being great.

America is great because of the fire in the pulpit and the prayers in the closets. Because of the cry of Godly men from pulpits challenging men to higher morals and better living for our Lord. God is pleased with a righteous nation.Randy Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06591540184327507528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32060719.post-19132568844447149862008-01-14T20:19:00.000-05:002008-01-14T20:19:00.000-05:00Having lived over seas for many years, I fond it d...Having lived over seas for many years, I fond it difficult to put this into words! Our nation is so blessed, in spite of our present spiritual condition. We are so FREE that we actually abuse it.

We are free to worship, free to work, free to be stupid! I often find our country to be child like in nature. We live vigorously and for the present!

In spite of our faults, we are a great nation, blessed by God beyond compare.Rita Locahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09961929692808138092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32060719.post-72855711322525790092008-01-14T19:36:00.000-05:002008-01-14T19:36:00.000-05:00I consider it to be a great country because of the...I consider it to be a great country because of the freedoms that we get to enjoy that other countries don't have. I am only going to name the most important one to me...there are many more that I would like to give...but...it would be WAY to long of a comment!!

-The freedom of religion.
We have the freedom to assemble publicly and worship the God of our salvation. We have the freedom to own a King James Bible...which is a crime in some countries.

I am so thankful that God allowed me to be born in the USA!!Kristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01532178068516156317noreply@blogger.com
